The ALL NEW Super Skivvies v.TWO are here!!!

Hi!

Many of you may know that since the last batch of Super Skivvies cloth training pants were released, we have had our pattern professionally redrawn. Everything has been squared up and sized to fit, reducing pull and stretch in weaker areas of each pair. You might notice that the inserts are a bit smaller, but they are still as incredibly absorbent as ever! We are sure you will love the new prints as much as we do!

Also...

The new Super Skivvies Boxer Brief cloth training pants have launched! We tried a pair on our daughter as soon as we brought them home, and I was SQUEALING with glee at how insanely cute they are! They are great for the boys who want undies like daddy, and awesome for girls who would rather not wear shorts or bloomers under dresses.

Head on over to our shop and take a peek at what's new. Then, head over to our Facebook page to tell us your favorite print!

We wish you the most wonderful Thanksgiving full of family, friends, thankfulness, and love!

Back-To-School Sale on Super Skivvies Cloth Training Pants!

We've been getting mail from our daughter's school in a more frequent manner lately which can only mean one thing...THE SUMMER IS ALMOST OVER!

We wish we would have had more opportunities to go camping (our one trip was cancelled due to family deaths and illnesses), swimming, laying on the beach, and what not, but we are satisfied with how many times we made it to (several) Farmer's Markets - still a couple of months left for those, how many summer activities we were able to get Ella involved in, and how many warm days we've had (a rarity in Seattle!).

A few years back, when I was searching for "The Preschool" for Ella, I found that almost all of them required enrolled children to be toilet trained. Thankfully, Ella pretty much potty trained herself when she was 16 months old, so this was not an issue for us. We did, however, have a small surge in sales around this time last year, and many of the Mama's said they were trying to get their little one to potty learn before school started.

SO, we thought we would help you out...

Fairy Garden Contest - 2012

A Natural Kids Team member, Donni, over at The Magic Onions is holding an annual Fairy Garden Contest on her blog. Not only is Super Skivvies cloth training pants a sponsor of the event, but Ella and I also decided to make a fairy garden of our own to enter into the contest.

This fairy garden is complete with a "swimming pool" (blue bowl on left), "swamp" (tiny blue pot on the right with the moss growing into it), Ella's Waldorf Spring Parade flower (yellow in the back), Rosemary centerpiece including a butterfly, two felt sheep, a piece of drift wood, and a couple of stones and pinecone tops (the wooden looking roses on the left). The green pot in the back is our housewarming plant from the little boy I nanny.

We actually planted it all in May, but it was sparse and looked messy. Now, two months later, it has grown in rather well (even growing over a few "fences" and stone paths) and looks more like a playland for fairies and gnomes than a planter with clumps of muddy moss scattered about. Ella is pleased. :)

 Sheep taking a swim.

All clean!

The contest closes today (8/1/12), so wish us luck!!! We have already bought a large old trunk for next years fairy garden. We're gonna go all out!

Super Skivvies Reviews: Upa-Lala *GIVEAWAY*

Super Skivvies has participated in a few reviews and giveaways over the past years, but we have never conducted our own. After being asked to review an Upa-Lala wetbag by the company owner, Brittan, we decided that this may be something that can benefit both parties and agreed to do it. We are so glad we did!

Since we only have one kiddo and she had potty trained, I only kept a medium-smallish size wetbag for summer beach trips. About a year after our little one was diaper free, I became a nanny for a 10-month-old little boy who is cloth diapered and started using that wetbag for him. The first couple of summers, both were too young to get very wet and change clothes at the beach. This summer was a different story. Thank goodness I had received an Upa-Lala wetbag just before the warm weather hit! I didn't realize how handy an extra wetbag could be, and the size I got to try has been perfect!
From the Upa-Lala website:
Upa-lala eco-bags are appealing to everyone, including the environmentally conscious. Your Upa-lala eco-bag can replace the use of plastic bags as they are reusable and can be machine washed and dried. They are handmade from high-quality designer fabrics with a separate layer of water-resistant material on the inside.
Upa-lala eco-bags come in three styles; zipper closure, drawstring and backpack. They work extremely well for containing wet or dirty items, such as damp cloth diapers, swimsuits, worn gym clothes, beach towels, fresh fruit and veggies, etc.
Our wetbag arrived packaged in a super cute origami box...

I immediately pulled the bag out of the box and my seamstress instincts kicked in. My eyes and fingers followed along all of the seams of the bag, inside and out. What I found was that the craftsmanship was excellent!

My little girl took it upon herself to try the bag out first by wearing it as a hat (lol!), then as a carrying case for her things. (This being my first review, I didn't think to take photos until about a week after this occurred...lesson learned!) The first time I used the bag, it was used as a back-up to the wetbag I already had as it was in the wash. It held up just as you would expect a wetbag to with only one soiled diaper in it. No leaks, and I wiped it out with a cloth baby wipe to clean it.

We took it to the beach with us a couple of times, and it held up great then as well. Then I really got to see what this wetbag could do. I had a weekend that I had to watch the little boy I nanny, and ended up having to use this wetbag. By the end of the day, this bag was holding three soiled prefolds, including one blowout, a diaper cover, and a soiled pair of shorts. We still had room for more! Our bag is the large size...it could last at least two days, maybe three, depending on what is in it.

What mattered to me most is that there were absolutely ZERO leaks. Not even a tiny bit of moisture on the outside of the bag. Five stars!

Bonus feature: There is a snapping handle on the top corner of the bag. We haven't had a specific use for it just yet, but I see it being especially handy if you wanted to hang it off the stroller (think: day at the zoo), or hang it on the door knob or changing table in the nursery. Buy an extra large bag and skip the diaper pail!

Brittan has graciously offered Super Skivvies readers a 10% off code! Use the code SUPER at checkout to redeem. Code expires August 6, 2012.
